Violent clashes on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan
Violent clashes erupted Saturday between Afghan Taliban forces and Pakistani soldiers along the border between the two countries, after Kabul accused Islamabad of launching airstrikes on its territory, Taliban and Pakistani officials told AFP.

A spokesman for a Taliban unit said, "In response to airstrikes launched by the Pakistani army on Kabul," Taliban forces are "engaging in violent clashes with Pakistani security forces in various (border) areas."

Three days ago, the Pakistani army announced the deaths of 11 of its soldiers in a clash with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, adding that 19 TTP militants were killed in the clash in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan.
