DAMAC International, a leading global luxury real estate developer, has officially announced its entry into the Iraqi real estate market with the launch of the first phase of its flagship project, DAMAC Hills Baghdad, which includes three communities: Misk, Fayrouz, and Lamar.
According to a company statement released today, Thursday (October 23, 2025), DAMAC Hills Baghdad is part of DAMAC's total development area of 6.2 million square meters. The project is strategically located opposite Abbas Ibn Firnas Square, just a five-minute drive from Baghdad International Airport and the surrounding universities, ten minutes from the Green Zone and Mansour, and fifteen minutes from the capital's most prominent hotels.
The project, DAMAC's first in Iraq, reflects the National Investment Commission's efforts to attract more foreign investment.
"The new project embodies DAMAC's strategy to enter the Iraqi market, in line with the urban development goals of Baghdad," the statement quoted Majid Al-Ghazali, Senior Vice President of Projects at DAMAC International and Managing Director of DICO International in Iraq, as saying: "We are proud to launch the first phase of DAMAC Hills Baghdad, which represents a new starting point for DAMAC in Iraq. This project reflects our ambitious vision to deliver luxury real estate projects that enhance the quality of life and support national development efforts, in line with the comprehensive development plan for Baghdad 2030."
Al-Ghazali added: "This project, which is among the largest real estate development projects in Baghdad, offers a variety of luxurious residential villas with elegant designs and various sizes, including four and five bedrooms, and many designs that embody the ancient and elegant architecture for which Iraq has always been famous."
The new project supports infrastructure development efforts and promotes urban growth in Baghdad.
