Thwarting the smuggling of medicines and spare parts at Umm Qasr Port
The Border Ports Authority announced today, Friday, the thwarting of the smuggling of medicines and spare parts at Umm Qasr Port.
A spokesperson for the Authority, Alaa Al-Din Al-Qaisi, stated in a statement that "the Directorate of the Northern Umm Qasr Port, based on information provided by the Authority, seized three (40)-foot containers containing (human medicines, spare parts, ceramics, and a forklift). All of the materials violated import conditions and regulations, were unauthorized, and were intended for smuggling."

He indicated that "a formal seizure report was prepared in cooperation with the Customs Center, and the materials were referred to the Umm Qasr Customs Police Station to present the matter to the Umm Qasr Investigation Court Judge for appropriate legal action."
