The Minister of Interior explains the most important specifications of the new rescue and firefighting aircraft.
Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari explained the main specifications of the new rescue and firefighting aircraft on Saturday.
In a statement followed by the Iraq Times, Al-Shammari said, "These two aircraft represent a turning point in the history of the Iraqi Civil Defense, as the rescue and firefighting aircraft are South Korean-made and are used for search, rescue, and firefighting."
He continued, "The two aircraft are highly advanced and among the most modern models of search, rescue, and firefighting aircraft in the world. They are distinguished by their ability to fly in various weather conditions and extinguish fires." He explained that "the two aircraft are highly flexible."
He stated that "these two aircraft are the first, and there will be two more in Basra and two in Nineveh." He noted that "trained pilots have completed their training period, in addition to technicians. There are also a number of other pilots and technicians in Korea for training on this type of aircraft."
