A government committee was formed to investigate the file of factories causing pollution in Dujail.
The Prime Minister's Advisor for Services Affairs, Mazhar Al-Khazraji, announced on Sunday the formation of a committee to investigate the factories causing pollution in Dujail.

Al-Khazraji said, "The Prime Minister's Office has directed the resolution of the issue of the closure of violating factories in Dujail District, which have caused foul odors, the spread of cancer, and other serious environmental and health impacts."

He added, "It has been decided to form a fact-finding committee to investigate and follow up on the case on the ground, and to hold accountable and punish all parties and individuals proven to have been involved or cooperated in opening these factories in violation of applicable instructions and laws." He noted that "the lives of citizens in Dujail District are a trust that cannot be taken lightly, and the interests and health of the people will never be allowed to be held hostage by any political party or group."

He indicated that "the government will take all necessary measures to protect citizens from any harm or violation."
