Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received a phone call on Thursday from British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, during which he affirmed Iraq's openness to all areas of cooperation.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received a phone call today, Thursday, from British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, during which they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them."
The statement added that "the call addressed joint cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, development, infrastructure projects, and the activation of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding to enhance exchange and partnership."
According to the statement, al-Sudani affirmed that "Iraq is open to all areas of cooperation, and that the investment environment in Iraq is developing in a way that attracts international companies and increases opportunities for their contribution to the major strategic projects launched in the country."
For her part, Minister Cooper affirmed her country's desire to strengthen cooperation with Iraq in various fields and praised the policies pursued by the government to enhance Iraq's economic capabilities.
The Prime Minister told the British Foreign Secretary: Iraq is open to all areas of cooperation.
