Egyptian international Mohamed Salah made history for Liverpool after scoring in his team's victory over Aston Villa in their Premier League match on Saturday evening.
Liverpool faced Aston Villa in the tenth round of the 2025-2026 Premier League season.
Salah scored Liverpool's first goal against Aston Villa in the first minute of first-half stoppage time.
With this goal, Salah reached his 250th goal for Liverpool.
He also equaled Wayne Rooney's record for the most goal contributions for a single club in Premier League history (276).
In 298 appearances, Salah has contributed to 276 of Liverpool's Premier League goals, scoring 187 and providing 88 assists. In all his Premier League appearances (for both Chelsea and Liverpool), Mohamed Salah has equaled Frank Lampard's record of 279 Premier League goal involvements, scoring 190 goals and providing 89 assists. Only Alan Shearer (324) and Wayne Rooney (311) have more goal and assist involvements in the competition's history.
Liverpool entered yesterday's match under increasing pressure after four consecutive league defeats, part of a six-game losing streak in their last seven matches across all competitions. However, they secured a victory, reducing the gap with league leaders Arsenal to seven points, bringing their total to 18 points. Aston Villa, meanwhile, dropped to 11th place with 15 points.
