A security source revealed on Monday that Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari has been assigned to manage the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, in addition to his current duties at the ministry.
This assignment comes within the framework of the caretaker government headed by Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, following the vacancy created by the departure of former Minister of Migration, Evan Faeq Jabro, who left her ministerial post to officially assume her duties as a rapporteur in the newly elected Iraqi Parliament.
Al-Shammari will manage the migration and displacement portfolio in an acting capacity to ensure the continuity of services and administrative operations at the ministry until the formation of the next cabinet is finalized and a new minister is appointed in accordance with the anticipated constitutional requirements.
Abdul Amir Al-Shammari has been appointed to head the Ministry of Migration and Displacement.
