The Kurdistan Region's General Directorate of Dams announced that nearly one billion cubic meters of water have been stored in the region's dams during the current rainy season.
According to the directorate's statistics, there are 25 dams in the Kurdistan Region, including the largest dams: Dukan, Darbandikhan, Komsban, and Duhok, which have stored the majority of the water.
In addition to these four large dams, most of the smaller dams in the Kurdistan Region have overflowed this year due to heavy rainfall, according to Rahman Khani, the Director General of Dams in the Kurdistan Region.
The dams of the Kurdistan Region store one billion cubic meters of rainwater.
