President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed the importance of coordination and consultation on various issues, which contribute to achieving the interests of the peoples of the region and serving their just causes.
"President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly," he added.
He added, "At the beginning of the meeting, the Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to the President of the Republic. They also reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and the need to continue meetings and consultations on issues and files between the two countries and reach understandings that serve the interests of the two peoples and brotherly countries."
According to the statement, the President of the Republic stressed the importance of coordination and consultation on various issues, which contribute to achieving the interests of the peoples of the region and serving their just causes. He noted in this regard Iraq's position rejecting the aggression against the Gaza Strip and emphasizing the right of the Palestinian people to achieve their rights to establish an independent state. The latest developments on the regional and international arenas were also discussed, as well as the role of the United Nations in establishing the foundations for international peace and security to achieve stability in the Middle East and the world as a whole, and to implement the Sustainable Development Goals.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Qubad Talabani, Minister of Health Saleh al-Hasnawi, and Advisor to the Prime Minister Khalid al-Yaqoubi.
