The Ministry of Defense stated in a press release received by Iraq Times Agency that "Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, chaired the 15th meeting of the Army Chief of Staff Council for the year 2026 on Wednesday, in the presence of the Senior Secretary of the Army Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chiefs of Staff, the Inspector General, the commanders of the various branches of the armed forces, and the directors of the relevant departments and units." The statement added, "The Chief of Staff addressed the overall security situation in the country, offering a number of directives and recommendations, emphasizing the need for vigilance and caution, monitoring the readiness of military units, and strengthening measures to maintain security and stability."
