A ministry statement indicated that the Environmental Police discovered the cave in the Al-Khasfa area of the Anbar desert after a member of the Contracts Police in the Haditha sector managed to reach it.
The statement added that the police discovered an underground river inside the cave containing very rare, blind fish, noting that the cave's ceiling had collapsed over time.
