Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, the reigning Iraqi Stars League champions, drew 3-3 with hosts Nawroz on Friday at Nawroz Stadium in the opening round of the 2026-2027 Iraqi Stars League season.
Nawroz's goals were scored by Mohammed Dilawar in the 11th minute, Ibrahim Ghazi from a penalty in the 25th minute, and Simon Msuva in the 31st minute. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's goals came from Saad Al-Rousan in the 5th minute, Mohammed Jawad in the 45+3 minute, and then Jawad again in the 90+9 minute to secure a point for his team.
Nawroz's Marwan Hussein was sent off in the 84th minute. With this draw, both teams earned one point in their opening match of the new season.
