The head of the Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, affirmed that September 30th is not a date for confrontation, but rather a phase for organizing the security situation and consolidating state authority.
In a statement to the official newspaper, Maan said, "This date should not be a source of concern for Iraqis; rather, it can represent a turning point with positive repercussions that open the door to investment and the economy," in parallel with efforts to consolidate weapons under state control and unify security decision-making within official institutions.
He added that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi's recent meeting with the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee included discussions about initiating a project to consolidate weapons under state control," noting that "there are several laws that move in this direction, in addition to the Prime Minister's personal interest in the issue of consolidating weapons under state control."
He emphasized that "September 30th should not be a cause for concern, as the state is handling this phase within legal and constitutional frameworks, in addition to existing channels of understanding for addressing issues related to the post-international coalition phase."
