Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi stated today, Friday, at the opening of the eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, that all political forces are in complete agreement on proceeding with the process of restricting weapons to the state, and that work is underway on mechanisms for surrendering weapons and completely ending this situation.
Al-Zaidi went on to emphasize that there are no intentions or possibilities of any military confrontation, adding, "We will not allow Iraq's enemies to exploit any opportunity."
Al-Zaidi stressed that "there will be no retreat from the fight against corruption, and the government enjoys broad support from the political forces."
