US President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of 300 National Guard troops to Chicago, weeks after he threatened to do so despite objections from local officials.
"President Trump has authorized the deployment of 300 National Guard troops to protect federal officers and assets," White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said. "President Trump will not turn a blind eye to the chaos raging in American cities."
