The Chairman of the Iraqi Securities Commission, Faisal Al-Haimus, affirmed the implementation of well-thought-out reforms that will enhance investor confidence and keep pace with global developments, in order to enhance the investment environment in Iraq.
During the World Investor Week conference held on Sunday, Al-Haimus said, "Holding this conference represents an important milestone in the development of the financial and investment sector in Iraq and a clear message of the state's commitment to creating a modern investment environment based on transparency, trust, and good governance. This will enhance the position of the Iraq Stock Exchange as a key driver of economic recovery and achieving the goals of Iraq's Economic Vision 2030."
He added, "The government has paid great attention to enhancing the investment climate and creating promising opportunities for companies and investors. The Commission is working to achieve this through carefully considered steps, including reforming the legislative and regulatory structure, expanding the listing base, and adopting modern mechanisms that enhance investor confidence and keep pace with global developments."
He pointed out that "the proceedings of this conference will be the starting point for a new phase of cooperation that will contribute to strengthening Iraq's position on the global financial and investment map."
The Securities Commission held the "World Investor Week" conference and the "Commission's Establishment Anniversary" under the theme: "Towards an Advanced Financial Market - Iraq's Economic Vision 2030."
